Reiki is a healing art which originated 2,500 years ago in India and Tibet. The healings and teachings spread through to Japan in the late 1800’s where the modern lineage begins with Dr. Mikao Usui.
Sessions proceed with the individual lying on a Reiki/massage table and a practitioner applying specific hands-on or hands-off positions. These positions facilitate the natural energy of the body to align and balance the chakras, the energy centers of the body. An individual often enters a state of relaxation and serenity as mind, body and soul connects. During this process the body allows itself to heal and strengthen weakened or blocked energy flow.
A Reiki session is commonly used for wellness and not just when there is an illness. Reiki is a non-evasive modality which compliments other wellness and healing treatments. Unlike massage or other energy treatments, all sessions are conducted clothed. Simply wear loose comfortable clothing and abstain from wearing jewelry and belts.
